Campaign Story

Who are we?

This project is initiated by the Ethics Club of the Faculty of Law which is an independent and informal organization student form in order to increase the quality of education, to prevent and fight negative phenomena as well as increasing student activism at the Faculty of Law. The student corner will be developed in cooperation with the Dean of the Faculty of Law through a mutual cooperation in the realization of the long-term plan.

Why the Faculty of Law of the University of Prishtina “Hasan Prishtina” needs a recreational student corner? 

The Faculty of Law was established on June 23, 1961 as an institution of higher education in Kosovo and was originally called the Faculty of Law and Economics, a name it held until 1970. From 1971 until today, the Faculty of Law functions as an academic unit within the University of Prishtina (UP), which organizes basic studies, master degrees and doctorate. At the Faculty of Law, studies were conducted according to a four-year system. Currently the Faculty of Law has over 5000 students, of all levels (Bachelor, Master and doctorate).

Apart from the activities carried out by the staff of the Faculty, there are no activities on the part of students, but the interest and will is there. What is needed is a recreational and alternative space where students can engage in various activities and enjoy entertainment without relying on public coffee shops and restaurants.

What is our purpose? 

This project has a completely non-profit purpose, for the benefit of the students and with the obligation of an informal recreational corner that carries out outdoor activities by students such as: trainings, debates, workshops, film screenings, scientific work, documentaries, musical performances, etc.).

Through these activities, more opportunities will be created for students of the Faculty of Law so that they can develop more professionally within the activities that will be carried out in this area through a long-term plan.

Another important goal of this project is to improve social life for the students of Faculty of Law through networking and socialization, also the transformation of space into a very friendly and colorful environment for reading, for scientific research work, as well as group conversations. Considering the lack of space for years in the Faculty of Law due to the dark and closed architecture that was originally designed.

The support of the Dean’s Office so far is essential, giving us use of the relevant space and permission to turn it into a fully functional and recreational environment for students.

What do we need? 

The funds we aim to raise through this campaign with your support will enable us to purchase equipment such as work desks and chairs, paint for murals, building a corner for activities, as well as swinging chairs, cover for rain protection, flower vases, curtains for projector, bookshelves and various books etc.
