Who are we?

We are the Mountain Hikers club, from the city of Gjakova. Known as a non-governmental organization, established on December 3, 2020, with clear goals, within the sport of mountain climbing. Our passion is walking in nature. We share this passion with each other every Sunday, exploring the most beautiful places around us. The willingness to promote the values of nature to our people is immense.

What is our goal?

Our goal is to involve children in the sport of hiking in the mountains. We want to pass on to them the culture of walking in nature and educate them to appreciate and preserve nature. The culture of mountaineering in our country is not practiced enough by new generations. We think that these generations should be more involved in this sport, because they will have great benefits both physically and mentally.

In a world where most time is spent in traffic and social media, it is quite difficult to experience the beautiful sensations that nature has to offer.

Children are free beings, they form their character from an early age. Nature will make them reflect on their personality. Nature will give them freedom and a detachment from reality and daily routine. Children deserve to know what beautiful places are around them. They need to play in the mud, run, pick flowers, have fun, play with wooden sticks and so they will create unforgettable memories from their childhood.

The Mountain Hikers Club will offer them one day a week, starting in May. A day full of adventures and various outdoor activities. To show them what nature has to offer, so that they create a better social life and most importantly to know themselves and the strength that each of them have.

Our country is characterized by our values of nature. If we engage the new generations in these adventures, they will serve the future of our country and will preserve and promote these values.

We will also achieve something that we as a people do not practice enough, which is mountain hiking and camping with children.

How will your support help us?

To make this possible we need your support. Because, to implement these activities we will need adequate equipment, both for hiking and also camping. These equipment will facilitate our work, provide security and enable the realization of these activities. So join us in supporting our campaign so that the new generation will learn how to love and preserve nature.
